Our Laker Family

This year the Shell Lake Elementary School staff made a goal to improve social and emotional learning/supports for students this year.  Our positive behavior support team decided to write a code of conduct which starts with the simple golden rule:  "Treat others as you would like to be treated."  In order to help students grow in their social skills, we have implemented something we call "sibling classes" where older students do an activity with a younger class of students.  These activities are planned monthly between the two classrooms and students can be found reading together, playing together or building something together.  The purpose of this theme and pairing is to help students learn how to interact positively with others and for our older students to also learn some mentoring skills.  We are all better together when we treat each other as a Laker family.
